Chandigarh, July 24, 2023: Punjab government has decided to close the museums – Virasat-e-Khalsa at Sri Anandpur Sahib, Dastan-e-Shahadat at Sri Chamkaur Sahib and Golden Temple Plaza at Amritsar, for visitors till July 31 for half-yearly maintenance.

The official spokesperson of Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs of Punjab, said that the aforementioned museums are kept closed for visitors every year during the last week of January and July. This closure allows necessary repair and maintenance work to be conducted, which cannot be carried out during the continuous movement of tourists in the galleries of the museums.
