Muktsar, September 25, 2023: As per media reports, Punjab Vigilance Bureau’s team today raided a farmhouse of former Finance Minister and BJP leader Manpreet Singh Badal at Badal village to arrest him.
According to the news published in The Tribune, as Manpreet was not at the farmhouse, the Vigilance Bureau team had to return empty-handed.
Before leaving, Kulwant Singh, DSP, Vigilance Bureau, Bathinda, said, “The raid lasted for nearly an hour. We thoroughly searched Manpreet Badal’s house. He was not here. We didn’t find any objectionable record. Our teams visited various places to search for him today.”
The VB team came in eight to 10 vehicles and was led by two DSPs. It reached here around 4:40 pm.
Earlier the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against former state finance minister Manpreet Badal and five others in connection with alleged irregularities in the purchase of a property in Bathinda
The case’was registered under Sections 420 (cheating) and 468 (forgery) of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
During the investigation, the Vigilance Bureau had questioned Badal in July.
A few days ago, Badal had filed a pre-arrest bail application in a court in Bathinda and the matter is listed for hearing on September 26.
