Giani Gobind Singh ji head granthi of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib and S. Inderjit Singh ji member Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee prayed for good and cordial relations between both the countries
Gurdaspur, September 17, 2023: As per media reports, BJP Secretary and former president of DSGMC Manjinder Singh Sirsa today said he would urge the Central Government to revoke the condition of passport requirement for devotees intending to travel to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib across the border.
According to the news published in The Tribune, Sirsa himself visited the Gurdwara sahib today with his supporters. He said that there was a misconception in people’s minds that visas will be stamped on their passports if they travel to the Sri Kartarpur Sahib.
“That is not right. The passports are just checked at the corridor and visas are not stamped on them,” he said.
He added that the clause of 20$ fee was also confusing. “This too should be withdrawn,” he said.
He offered Chandoa Sahib and Rumala Sahib at Gurdwara Sahib and prayed for long and health life of PM Modi and also prayed for good relations between both the countries as well as for well-being of all humanity and to promote the message of peace and brotherhood.
Talking to media after paying obeisance, Sirsa disclosed that Giani Gobind Singh ji head granthi of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib and S. Inderjit Singh ji member Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC) prayed for good and cordial relations between both the countries and they have given a Dastar, Siropao and Parshad for Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi.
He said that It was a lifetime opportunity for him and his fellow team members to pay obeisance at a place Guru Nanak Dev ji spent his last days of life doing farming.
He said that it is all due to effort of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that this Kartarpur Sahib corridor has been established. He said that though one need visas to visit any other country but for paying obeisance at place of Guru Nanak Dev ji no visa is required. He said that he prayed for well-being of all citizens of the country, peace and progress of the country and for good relations between both the countries.
He said that Guru Sahib gave us ideal of kirat karo, nam japo ate wand Chhako (means work with hands, recite name of almighty and share your earnings) and we are pursuing that ideal in life.
He said that paying obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib Sri Kartarpur Sahib is a dream of every Sikh and it is our Prime Minister Narendra Modi who understood how important is this pious place for Sikh community and his government created idea of Kartarpur Sahib corridor and this plan was implemented many years after Independence of the nation.
It Is worth mentioning here that Sirsa had recently been appointed National Secretary of BJP and he thanked almighty for providing this opportunity to serve people of the country specially members of Sikh community and Punjabis.
Earlier Sirsa and his team left for Kartarpur Sahib corridor from Amritsar in two buses.
He was accompanied by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) General Secretary Mr. Jagdip Singh Kahlon, members of DSGMC, senior leader Parminder Singh Brar, Gurpartap Singh Tikka besides others.
