New Delhi, August 29, 2023: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has sent legal notice to Producers and Directors of hindi film Yaariyan 2 for a non baptised actor has been presented wearing sacred Kirpan and asked them to apologize within 3 days or face legal action.

In a statement released here today, DSGMC President Mr. Harmeet Singh Kalka, General Secretary Mr. Jagdip Singh Kahlon and Mr. Jaspreet Singh Karmsar Chairman of Religious affairs committee said that film producers and directors have committed a sacrilegious act by presenting actor Meezan Jafri wearing sacred Kirpan in movie trailer which has been released and was playing on social media and is broadcast, promoted and being advertised everywhere in India.

They said that through legal notice we have asked Producers and Directors to stop its broadcasting, and advertising, unconditionally apologize to DSGMC and Sikh community, issue a clarification on misrepresenting Sikh faith and unconditionally cease and desist from repeating such acts in future.

They said that in case they failed to take actions as per notice within 3 days, we will initiate legal proceedings against them in the courts of law and will ensure that they are punish according to law of the land.
