New Delhi, July 10, 2023: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has formed 11 member panel on the issue of Uniform Civil Code (UCC).The panel to formulate views of Sikh community.
In a press release DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka and General Secretary Jagdip Singh Kahlon informed that Former Judge of High Court Justice Talwant Singh will head committee as Chairman.
Apart from his, both of us (Kalka and Kahlon), Tarlochan Singh former MP, RS Ahuja President Sikh Forum, Surinder Singh Jodhka, Amarjeet Singh Narang, RP Singh former Chairman of Punjab and Sindh Bank, Baljit Singh Daduwal former President HSGMC, Narenderjit Singh Bindra President Hemkunt Sahib Trust and Jasbir Singh Jaipur will be members of this committee.
They said that this committee will prepare draft on viewpoint of Sikhs towards UCC. They further informed that a 14 member Advisory panel has also been formed which will assist this 11 member panel.
This 14 member panel will have Charanjiv Singh, Karnataka, Dr. Mohinder Singh, Bhai Veer Singh Sadan, Gurvinder Singh Dhamija Haryana Gurdwara Committee, Jasbir Singh Dhaam Maharashtra, Gurjeet Singh Kingi (President, Gurdwara Badgaon), Ajaypal Singh Jaipur, Kuldeep Singh Bagga Hyderabad, Manjit Singh Nayyar (Chennai), Parminder Singh (Lucknow), Satnam Singh Ahluwalia (Kolkata), Satpal Singh (Orissa), Gurdeep Singh Sahota (Dehradun, UK), Surinderpal Singh (UP) and Air Marshal P.S. Bhangu as members.
