Chandigarh, August 31, 2023: As per media reports, Punjab As per media reports Government today informed Punjab and Haryana High Court that it has decided to withdraw decision to dissolve Panchayats in the state.
Advocate General Punjab informed High Court during hearing that it will issue notification in a day or two in this regard.
Earlier, the he Punjab government has dissolved all of the over 13,000 panchayats in the state, paving the way for civic body elections, expected to be held in November.
The Panchayat Samitis and the Zila Parishads, had announced by the 25th November, 2023; and (ii) the Gram Panchayats, had announced by the 31st December, 2023.”
