Frozepur, July 13, 2023: The situation is become worse when a boat overturn due to over capacity. As per media reports Former BJP MLA Sukhpal Singh Nannu, who went to deliver food items to the villages in boat and the people being rescued, capsized in the water. He was saved because he was wearing a life jacket.

People from nearby houses swam on tubes and rescued the children. On the other hand, army personnel took the villagers to a safe place outside with the help of ropes in a motor boat filled with water. To deliver ration to the people.

In fact, at the time of return, an elderly woman present in the house and the children sitting in another house started shouting seeing them, then they made the children and women sit in the boat. 2-3 more youths boarded the boat. The boat capsized in the water due to overcrowding. The video of this incident went viral on the social media.

Barbed wire on the Indo-Pak border has also been submerged. However, during the overnight operation by the district administration, over 1200 families have been rescued in Ferozepur, including 29 expectant mother’s on priority basis by the rescue teams from seven border villages.

Pakistan has opened 6 of its 10 gates. Pak officials have assured that if required, the remaining four gates will also be opened.

Health department has deployed 20 teams to provide medical aid to the affected people besides keeping Ambulances on stand-by, at the places where villagers are being evacuated.

Two teams from Army, one squad from BSF and several police officials with 10 motorboats, several wooden boats, were deployed in the operation.
